The farming cooperative Bio Hortus Consortizio has been cultivating citrus fruit in Demeter quality since 1974. The small farmers of the cooperative can cultivate bio-dynamic blood oranges in the best quality through the close solidarity and exchanges of experience. Situated at the foot of Mount Etna in Sicily, the blood orange trees have ideal growing conditions on the volcanic rocks – the best conditions for the characteristic blood orange juice from Voelkel.
