Some projects pushed forward by Voelkel

Voelkel's supplier of pineapples, a plantation in Kerala, South India, developed their cultivated land from organic towards bio-dynamic. The high demand and Voelkel's support enabled the plantation to adopt Demeter criteria.


Voelkel initiated the foundation of an association of mixed and irregularly planted fruit meadows on an organic basis
The desire for organically and irregularly planted apples inspired Voelkel to a new idea. Why not promote their cultivation in the Elbe valley and pushi their "organic" labelling.


Short distances: Our search for regional producers of carrots and beetroot in Demeter quality resulted in a new cultivation project. Rodelika, a carrot with a very good taste, was bio-dynamically grown for the first time in North Germany by three Demeter farmers and processed by Voelkel.


Before being processed, all vegetables are strictly controlled in Voelkel's own lab to make sure that they comply with the strict Voelkel criteria. Thanks to immediate processing and bottling we can guarantee that the important diversity of nutrients can be preserved to a high extent.

The greatest part of the fruit we process is fresh-picked. The processing towards high quality direct juices takes place according to Voelkel's demanding quality principles.



Even when the fruit is imported from far-away tropical regions all these principles have to be observed. Take the example of pineapple direct juice and mango pulp from India. Both fruit are only harvested when they are full-ripe and then immediately processed. Before being shipped to Höhbeck/Pevestorf the valuable ingredients for some of the most popular Voelkel specialities are carefully packed in aseptic barrels.
