Vegetable Juices
Field-fresh Demeter biodynamic vegetable juices are one of our vegetable specialities. In our own in-house vegetable juice press, flavourful carrots, dark red beetroots and savoury celeriac are gently squeezed into 100% pure fruit juice and then immediately filled into bottles – a process that optimally preserves the original pure and full-bodied taste and natural nutrients of the vegetables.

Naturally, fair trade is an integral part of Voelkel’s procurement policy. Accordingly, some of our field-fresh vegetable juices, as well as our lacto-fermented musts and sauerkraut juice carry the BioFair seal from the BioFair Association. The seal stands for fair raw material prices, the use of regional ingredients, appropriate and fair wages, and sustainable production.

Most of our vegetable juices are in Demeter quality – the trademark for certified biodynamic farming in harmony with nature. In keeping with the spirit of this concept, vegetables from true-to-seed varieties form the basis for Voelkel’s vegetable juices. True-to-seed varieties can propagate and their seeds can be sowed again the next year. They are the opposite of hybrid varieties, which cannot reproduce, and therefore farmers have to buy new supplies of them each year.

Moreover, our organic juice producing company also offers three types of vegetable musts, which are lacto-fermented vegetable juices. Once the vegetables have been freshly pressed for our musts, we inject them with lactobacilli bacteria. The ingredients ferment, creating racemat, a mix of laevorotatory lactic acid (L-lactic acid) and dextrorotatory lactic acid (D-lactic acid). The share of D-lactic acid in our Voelkel musts is especially high. Musts are very easy to digest and aid digestion the natural way. They do not contain any alcohol!

Fruit Juices
A fruit juice is a juice made from fruit – 100 percent fruit, that is. Not all fruit juices are always freshly squeezed, however. But natural, organic fruit juices from Voelkel are! The fully ripe fruits are freshly pressed and the juice is immediately bottled – without adding sugar or other additives. And without reconstituting concentrates, i.e. water and flavours are not extracted or added back in again later on. Which makes our fruit juices 100% pure, not-from-concentrate juices.

Our long-established, family-run juice mill offers about 40 different products. In addition to all-time classics such as apple, orange and multivitamin juices, our assortment includes exotic compositions such as pineapple, grapefruit, blood orange, apricot-peach and apple-mango as well as single-variety juice specialties.

Fruit Juice Drinks, Fruit Drinks and Nectars
Nectars and fruit drinks contain a blend of sweetened fruit juice and water. One such drink we produce at Voelkel is a premium, high-quality rhubarb drink that contains 60% pure (not-from-concentrate) rhubarb juice. Fruit juices from Voelkel are not sweetened with processed sugar, but rather with natural fruit sweeteners made from concentrated fruit syrups. For example, our guava-aloe vera drink contains a subtle, natural fruit sweetener made from concentrated grape syrup. In a few cases – such as our rhubarb drink – we add raw cane sugar to achieve the desired level of sweetness.
Our popular "BioZisch" line comprises 13 different delicious organic soft drink flavours. Voelkel soft drinks are made from natural fruit and vegetable juices, herb and spice extracts as well as mineral water from Voelkel's own source in the Niedersächsische Elbtalaue biosphere resort in the German state of Lower Saxony. Free from flavour additives, their taste is refined with natural fruit sweeteners made from concentrated fruit syrups. In contrast, most conventional soft drinks contain flavour extracts, fruit juice concentrates, sweeteners or sugar as well as dyes or colourings.

"Muttersaft" (Mother Juice)"Muttersaft", literally “mother juice”, is pure, not-from-concentrate juice with 100% fruit content obtained from the first pressing. It contains only the natural fruit flavours and the fruit’s own water that it formed and stored during its ripening period. After squeezing the carefully selected fruits, the unfiltered beverage still contains all or virtually all of the nutritious plant substances. The unfiltered juice thus retains its natural quality. The term "Muttersaft" is mostly used for pure, not-from-concentrate juice from highly acidic fruits. Due to their high content of fruit acid, these juices have a very intense taste and are often diluted with water or mixed with apple juice rather than drank in their pure form.Our "Muttersaft" juices are made from the following fruits, among others: acerola, sea buckthorn, pomegranates, aronia berries (chokeberries), lingonberries, cranberries, elderberries, blueberries and black currants. Our "Muttersaft" products are ideal as a basis for fruit drinks, cocktails and fruit sauces, or delicious used in fruit desserts, fruit yoghurt, fruit quark (soft curd cheese), fruit jelly or as a fruity addition to muesli or cereal.Syrups, Fruit Sauces & Concentrated Fruit SyrupsOur fruit syrups are made exclusively from pure fruit juice or fruit puree and sugar. The organic syrups, which come in flavours such as pomegranate, strawberry, lime, elderflower and raspberry, are a delightful addition to fine cuisine – whether diluted with natural mineral water or used as a basis for cocktails, for enhancing the flavour of desserts or puddings, or as a topping for ice cream, quark (soft curd cheese), rice pudding or yoghurt.“Voelkel Vollfrucht” products – our own fruit sauces – come in cranberry, aronia berry (chokeberry) and sea buckthorn flavours, The contain 60% premium fruit puree and delectable acerola cherry puree and are only sweetened with agave syrup. They are an ideal complement to yoghurt, quark (soft curd cheese), rice pudding, drinks, ice cream, muesli and cereal, or delicious eaten right from the spoon.Our fruity concentrated apple syrup is distinguished by its versatility. Just a small amount is enough to give a slight touch of sweetness to savoury food. This concentrated apple juice is also perfect for cooking and baking as well as for adding a natural sweet taste to muesli, cereal, desserts, quark (soft curd cheese) and yoghurt dishes, and drinks. And it can be used to season and enhance sweet-and-sour dishes as well.
